Jerry Dwight Vickers, 67, of Port Neches, Texas, passed away on April 13, 2019, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on May 10, 1951, he was the son of Morris Memphis Vickers and Barbara (Boulett) Vickers. Jerry graduated from Port Neches High School and went on to be the Chief Engineer at Sabine Towing. He was what you would call a “scrapper”; he thought everything had some good in it and could be used for something. He enjoyed spending his free time fishing with his buddies. Jerry was a wonderful man, a great father, and a great grandfather. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Barbara Vickers; his loving wife, Linda Vickers; brothers, Richard Vickers and Michael Vickers; and sisters, Barbara Palumbo and Claudine Vickers.
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Missy Vickers Ashworth and husband Jason, of Bridge City and Stacy Lynn Vickers, of Port Neches; grandchildren, Hailey Ashworth, Garrett Ashworth, Riley Whitson, Reagen Whitson, and Gavin Perez; great-grandchild, Branson; siblings, Dennis Vickers, Carolyn Ebanks, and Donna Howell; along with numerous other loving family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are Gary Hickman, David Broadus, Troy Stephenson, James Obanion, Charlie Ganze, and Patrick Turner.
