Lamar men’s basketball associate head coach Bobby Kummer has been named to the same role at Mercer.
Kummer was among the assistants recently hired Greg Gary announced Wednesday. Gary was hired earlier this month after assisting Matt Painter on NCAA regional finalist Purdue.
Kummer, 44, spent five seasons at Lamar, the last three as associate head coach. The Detroit native played collegiately at Charlotte and helped the Cardinals turn into a contender in the Southland Conference with back-to-back 19-win seasons and a 20-win result this past season.
Mercer University is a private institution in Macon, Georgia, and competes in the Southern Conference. Mercer is best known for defeating Duke in the round of 64 in the 2014 NCAA tournament.
