GOLF: Orangefield qualifies for 3A tournament

BRENHAM — The Orangefield boys golf team will be heading to the Class 3A state golf tournament by placing a solid third at the 3A Region III Tournament on Monday and Tuesday.
The Bobcats finished third with a two-round score of 702, shooting a 351 on each day.
Logan Risinger was Orangefield’s top individual finisher as he had a two-round score of 166 to finish in eighth place. He was followed by teammates Hunter Christman (171), Ryan Braxton (180), Chase Broussard (185) and Kyle Pickard (199).
Pollok Central (327-335—662) and Cameron Yoe (355-334—689) each finished first and second to move on the state. The Bobcats edged Rockdale (351-357—708) by six strokes to claim the third state berth.
The Class 3A state tournament will take place May 20-21 in Austin at Grey Rock Golf Club.
