Theresa A. Adair

Theresa, who loved her Catholic Faith, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2019 in Hallettsville, Texas. Theresa was born on Christmas Day, 1927, and baptized on January 8, 1928 in Port Arthur, Texas. After graduating high school, Theresa worked at the First National Bank of Port Arthur for two years. She then entered the Dominican Order in Houston where she was a member from 1946 until 1969. She taught school in Houston, Beaumont, Port Neches, Port Acres, Port Arthur, and in California. She worked in the Educational and Medical Field from 1969-1984. She married Bill Adair and lived in Port Angeles, Washington from 1984-2004. When Bill became ill, they moved to Hallettsville, Texas. Bill passed away on July 8, 2006. She was an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a volunteer at LAMB Thrift Store. She was also an associate member of the Hallettsville Garden Club. All knew about her love of animals. She was an avid gardener spending many hours in her yard.
Theresa is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Della Placette; husband, William “Bill” Adair; sister, Elaine Rogers and brothers, J.G. Placette, Harold Placette and Cecil Placette. She is survived by her sisters, Patsy Collins and Rosalie Benton; stepdaughter, Sandra Kent and stepsons, Michael Adair, Ronald Adair, Larry Adair, and Bill Adair.
In lieu of flowers, the family request all Memorial Contributions in honor of Theresa A. Adair be made to your church.
A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
