Thunderstorms were likely for Monday afternoon with chances of rain diminishing to 20 percent Monday night.

Chances of thunderstorms Tuesday are 50 percent, with slight chances of additional storms later in the week. Chances for storms were 20 percent on Thursday and Friday.

The National Weather Service said some 3-5 inches of rain fell on Beaumont-Port Arthur from late Sunday to early Monday morning. Expect more Monday afternoon, meteorologists said.

There was a small craft advisory for the Galveston area and chances of rip currents along the beaches.
