Coast Guard medevacs mariner from near Cameron

HOUSTON — The Coast Guard medevaced a patient from a fishing vessel near Cameron, Louisiana on Monday morning after receiving a call that he needed medical assistance.
Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received the request from the fishing vessel Sea Horse.
Watchstanders consulted with the duty flight surgeon who recommended the medevac.
A Station Lake Charles Response Boat-Medium boat crew was launched to the scene, eight miles offshore from Cameron, and transported the mariner, who is 54, to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at the Calcasieu River ferry dock.
