PORT NECHES — TPC Group Port Neches Operations announced Monday plans to restart some equipment on-site this week to further enable response efforts from the Nov. 27 explosions at the site. The restart of this equipment may be heard off-site, according to Unified Command.
TPC has completed the first phase of the injection of DEHA to high priority tanks containing butadiene. The second phase will begin this week. No off-site impacts or public health concerns are anticipated, according to Unified Command.
“All storage tanks are being evaluated for mechanical integrity and prioritized for safe transfer of all materials from the site,” TPC said.
A replacement alarm system will be installed this week and tested once installed. Elevated noise levels may occur.
Unified Command also confirmed Monday no health impacts to air or water in the community.
