Keri Colleen Beck, 41, and her boyfriend Joshua Ray Bergeron, 38, were arrested Sunday night after Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a home in the 1500 block of South 27th Street.

Detectives also recovered checks, credit cards and other personal documents they believe was stolen from victims in Jefferson and Chambers counties. In addition, they were also in possession of equipment used to produce fraudulent documents by using the victim’s personal information for monetary gain.

Beck and Bergeron each face a count of possession of a controlled substance with bond set at $30,000 and fraudulent use/possession of identifying information with bond set at $20,000.

The Nederland and Port Neches police departments assisted with the JCSO Narcotics Division with the investigation.

Holmes said meth has become a drug of choice for people who abuse drugs, replacing the once popular crack cocaine, likely because it’s cheap and easy to distribute.

On Jan. 8 the JCSO Narcotics Task Force stopped a vehicle for speeding on Interstate 10 in Beaumont. The officers found more than 11 pounds of meth stashed in five large plastic boxes in the rear seat and floorboard.

The approximate street value was $140,800.

They arrested Jesse Tobon, 32, of Rosharon. Bond was set at $250,000. He has since bonded out of jail, according to the Jefferson County Jail Roster online.
