Port Neches RiverFest has been cancelled.
“Due to safety and health considerations regarding the COVID-19 virus, the RiverFest Board has decided to cancel RiverFest 2020,” a statement from Chairman Lance Bradley read. “We are already in the process of planning RiverFest 2021. On behalf of the Board, I want to express our deep appreciation to the community for their continued support of RiverFest. We hope that everyone stays safe during this difficult time and we look forward to seeing everyone in 2021.”
Port Neches Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Debbie Plaia followed up by saying, “It is with great sadness that we make this announcement. Stay safe and see you all sooner than later.”
Port Neches RiverFest was scheduled to take place April 29 to May 3 at Port Neches Riverfront Park on Grigsby Avenue and on the waterway.
The festival traditionally includes a carnival, food and crafts vendors, car show and live entertainment. It’s also the start of the Southern Professional Outboard Racing Tour tunnel boat races.
