Valero’s Port Arthur Refinery distributed $1,000,000 to local charities from funds raised through the Valero Texas Open, company leaders announced this week.
This year the tournament and associated events, including the Valero Benefit for Children, generated a record-breaking $23 million in net proceeds for charitable organizations across the country, including those in the Golden Triangle.
The tournament is ranked No. 1 once again on the PGA TOUR in charitable fundraising, according to Valero.
“Across the U.S., hundreds of BFC-recipient charities are positively impacting thousands of lives, and all for one purpose — to make a difference for children,” said Mark Skobel, vice president and general manager of the Valero Port Arthur Refinery.
“We’re proud to partner with these agencies and work together to improve children’s lives right here in Southeast Texas.”
