Vidor Police identify local man killed this week in collision with train

VIDOR — Authorities have identified a local man killed earlier this week when struck by a train.
He was identified as Aidan Montondon, 21, of Vidor, according to information from the Vidor Police Department.
Montondon was reported missing by his mother Tuesday, and Vidor police noticed similarities in the case with Monday’s death of a man struck and killed by a train.
Police Chief Rod Carroll said fingerprints confirmed the deceased was Montondon.
Police first responded to a call of a person being struck by a train at approximately 1:19 p.m. Monday
near East Railroad parallel to Ethel Lane.
Carroll said arriving officers found a person deceased.
Police believe the man died from the collision with the train.
The deceased did not have identification with him a the time.
Montondon was witnessed walking alongside the tracks prior to the collision.
Justice of the Peace Hershel Stagner was called to the scene and pronounced the individual deceased. He ordered an autopsy.
