GROVES — A Groves Police Department official said no threats were made when an individual with a gun went to the city’s water department to dispute a bill.
Interim Police Chief Chris Robin said calls came in at approximately 11:20 a.m. Monday from third-party callers, indicating a city staff member had a gun brandished on her.
“As it turned out, no threat was made. An individual with a license to carry legally carried and went to City Hall to dispute a water bill,” Robin said.
Bits of information were not relayed to the officers and they responded with all the precautionary measures as if a threat had been made, according to police.
“No threats were made and no charges were filed,” Robin said.
Officers had responded to City Hall, 3947 Lincoln Avenue in Groves, and its water department inside.
