Abraham students capture 1st at Get Excited About Robotics competition

Abraham Lincoln Fine Arts Academy Robotics emerged as the champions of this year’s GEAR (Get Excited About Robotics) competition, sponsored by Texas Tech University.

The Saturday event at the Region 17 Education Service Center in Lubbock brought together 24 top teams from their respective GEAR leagues.

ALFAA Robotics teams showcased talent and determination, earning the following awards:

  • Team 1 (Isabella Roy, Freddy Martinez, and Lucia Acosta: 5th Place, Judges Choice Award
  • Team 2 (Felix Nguyen, Jaidon Harrison, and Hernan Loera): GEAR 2024 Champion, Gear Head Award, Pinnacle Award

Science Department Lead Cynthia Quejado and Rizza Catbagan help coach the teams.
