The Mildred Yount Manion Foundation through Argent Trust Company is partnering with Spindletop Center by awarding a grant that will aid Spindletop Center’s children and youth services.

Those programs offer child-centered, family-focused, trauma-informed mental health treatment and care for children between the ages of 3 and 17, and their families.

The Mildred Yount Marion Foundation partnership is going to assist by providing supplies that encourage and facilitate mental health care and treatment for children, many of whom come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

The funds will be specifically used to purchase electronic tablets and individual art supplies, such as play-dough, paper, paint, pencils, pens, crayons and journals.

The funding will also be used to purchase fidget and soft toys for over-stimulated and anxious children, as well as stickers to encourage participation.

“Advancing the future of mental health support for children is a top priority for Spindletop Center’s youth services,” said Crystal Bagby, the Director of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services at Spindletop Center.

“The technology and essential resources we will be able to provide through this generous grant will promote the well-being of our clients. These tools seamlessly align with our mission and enhance our commitment to nurturing the mental health of children in need.”

The Mildred Yount Marion Foundation is a Beaumont-based foundation that charitable activities support programs and organizations, where one of the primary missions is to help and benefit underprivileged children.
