Port Arthur man sentenced to 75 years in teen shooting

A Port Arthur man was sentenced to 75 years in prison for shooting and injuring a young teenaged girl.
Timothy Harris, 34, was found guilty of aggravated assault following the shooting of a then 13-year-old after girl she resisted his sexual advances, authorities said.
The trial was held in Judge John Stevens’ Criminal District court.
The incident reportedly occurred on or about March 20, 2020.
Harris was indicted for the shooting charge in October 2020.
The defendant was also indicted in 2020 for sexual assault of the female that allegedly occurred for almost four years.
Harris has not yet been tried on the sexual assault charges.
