Deputies seize 30 kilos of meth during traffic stop

A recent traffic stop led to the arrest of a Mexican national and the seizure of more than 30 kilos of meth.
On June 18, detectives with the Jefferson County Narcotics Interdiction Division witnessed several traffic violations and conducted a traffic stop on a brown BMW on I-10 near Brooks Road in Beaumont.
After speaking with the occupant, detectives were granted consent to search the vehicle. While conducting a search of the vehicle, detectives located THC edibles and approximately 30 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine in the car.
Audivier Martinez-Gomez, age 34 (Mexican national), was placed under arrest and transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility where he was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. The Drug Enforcement Administration is assisting the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation and prosecution of this case.
