It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Laura E. Duplantis Seelen in her home in Longwood, FL., a devoted member of Holy Cross Lutheran, Lake Mary, FL and previously St. Paul Lutheran, Groves, TX. Laura was born on May 11, 1929 in Hebron, North Dakota.
Laura lived a life filled with love and compassion to not only her family but everyone she touched. She brought light and joy to all around her whether it was a treasure hunt for the little ones or a tea party for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Ida Engelhardt, sister Cora Nyland and brothers Jimmy and Wesly Engelhardt; husband Joseph Duplantis and husband Robert Seelen; and son Rick Duplantis. She is survived by her sister Sally Grant of Medina Washington, son Daniel Duplantis and wife Anita of Auburndale, FL, daughter-in-law Monica Duplantis of Lake Mary, FL, son Jon Duplantis and wife Karen of Corpus Christi, TX, and son Mark Duplantis and wife Jo of Longwood, FL.
Grossmutter’s (German for grandmother) memory will be cherished by her 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
A remembrance service of family and friends will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 5801 W. Jefferson St., Groves, TX on July 11th at 2 pm with refreshments and a memorial “Tea Party” afterwards.
