PN-GISD to call for election, hold budget workshop

PORT NECHES — The Port Neches-Groves Independent School District board of trustees will consider calling for an election to fill three seats during the 6 p.m. meeting Monday at the administration building, 776 Magnolia Ave., Port Neches.
The seats are Place 1 held by Dr. Scott Bartlett, Place 2 held by Dustin Marsh and Place 3 held by Eric Sullivan.
Each place is a three-year term.
Trustees will also consider the approval of an election services agreement with Jefferson County.
Filing for a seat on the board of trustees begins July 22 and ends at 5:15 p.m. Aug. 22 for the Nov. 5 election.
Other agenda items include:
- Approval of minutes of the June 24 meeting
- Consider approval of quarterly investment report
- Consider approval of financial advisor contract with Nickel Hayden Advisors
- Consider approval of updated student and employee acceptable use policies
- Consider approval of district core benefits package for the 2024-25 school year
- Request for new position
- Consider approval of employment counselor
- Consider approval of budget amendment
A budget workshop will be held after the meeting.
