The Port Arthur Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff Marine Unit coordinated in a joint effort to locate and arrest a suspect wanted on three counts of attempted second-degree murder.
Devon Randell, 34, was arrested after being found by authorities on a tugboat near Port Arthur.
Randell, who was wanted on three counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count of felony illegal use of a weapon, had allegedly been involved in a shooting incident on June 30 in Houma, Louisiana.
Port Arthur Police received a call on July 9 from a detective in Terrebone Parish, Louisiana, who said they had reason to believe Randell was hiding from authorities on a tugboat in Port Arthur.
Port Arthur Police and the Jefferson County Sheriff Marine Unit coordinated to have the tugboat come to the dock. Once there, Randell was located and arrested without incident.
Authorities later discovered Randell had two active felony family violence warrants from Harris County.
