Lena J. Doyle, a beloved resident of Katy, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the age of 99.

Born on December 26, 1924, to Antonio and Josephine Fontana, Lena lived a life full of vibrancy and joy.

A spirited and active individual, Lena was known for her love of social activities, whether it was engaging in lively card and domino games at the Heritage Grand clubhouse or dancing with her husband, Al, and friends at a private social club in her younger years.

She loved to sew, and her passion for gardening was evident in the many home-cooked meals she prepared, often sharing her garden’s bounty with family and friends.

Lena cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, finding immense joy in spending time with her loved ones. Her family was her heart, and she delighted in the company of her daughter Carolyn Menn, her three grandchildren—Brian, Troy, and Zachary Menn—and her four great-grandchildren—Caine, Kalix, Alessandra, and Zachary John Menn.

A devout Catholic, Lena was a dedicated member of St. James Church in Port Arthur, TX, for most of her life and later attended St. Bartholomew’s in Katy, TX. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her with strength and grace.

Lena was preceded in death by her husband,

Al Doyle; her son, Kent Boutte; and her brothers, Basil and Joseph Fontana.

Her memory will be cherished by her surviving family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Gathering of Family and Friends for Lena will be held Friday, September 6, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:30 PM at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, 4841 39th Street, Port Arthur, TX 77642.

A Funeral Mass will occur Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church,

3617 Gulfway Drive, Port Arthur, Texas 77642.

Lena will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 Twin City Highway, Groves, TX

77619-2859.

Lena’s legacy of love, joy, and faith will continue to inspire those who knew her. May she rest in peace.
