Home Instead in partnership with local non-profits is bringing back Be a Santa to a Senior program. The program seeks to help find seniors who might otherwise not receive any gifts this holiday season.
Trees decorated with ornaments are located in local stores, each featuring a senior’s name and their wishlist. Community members can purchase the items on the wishlist and return them to the store to be packaged and wrapped.
Gifts will be distributed by volunteers to the seniors wherever they may be throughout the month of December.
“We do it because there are singers out there that don’t get a gift. There are seniors out there that don’t have any family and we just want them to know that even though we don’t see them on a daily basis, the community is thinking about them and wanting to give and let them know they are not alone,” said Reagen King, Community Liaison for Home Instead.
Home instead hopes to fulfill 3000 wish lists this year.
