DPS investigates multi-vehicle crash on Twin City Highway

NEDERLAND, Texas – Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that occurred Wednesday evening in the 4900 block of Twin City Highway.

According to preliminary reports, the crash happened around 7:05 p.m. when a Ford Taurus traveling south collided with a Volkswagen Passat that had pulled out from a private driveway. The impact ejected the Volkswagen’s driver, who was then struck by a northbound Jeep Wrangler.

Emergency responders transported the driver of the Ford to Southeast Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Their identity has not been released.

The Jeep’s driver, identified as 67-year-old Terry Britten of Nederland, was not injured.

Marina Ramirez, 55, of Port Arthur, who was driving the Volkswagen, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital. A 14-year-old passenger in her vehicle was unharmed.

Authorities have not released further details as the investigation continues.
