A one vehicle wreck on FM 365 near Hillebrandt Road in Jefferson County left an Alvin woman dead on Thursday.
The wreck occurred about 1:15 p.m. July 16, according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The deceased has been identified as Shelley Mott, 45.
A Dodge pickup truck was traveling westbound on FM 365 near Hillebrandt Road and for an unknown reason, the driver of the truck drifted off the roadway to the right.  In an attempt to get the vehicle back onto the road, the driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to go into a side-skid. The vehicle continued across the eastbound lanes of FM 365 and rolled over several times.  The driver of was ejected from the vehicle.
The driver, a 42-year-old woman from Alvin,  was transported by medical helicopter to Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.  Due to the extent of her injuries, she was pronounced dead at 1:58 p.m.
