VIDOR — A woman who reportedly escaped her kidnapper in Orange County last week has returned to her hometown of New Orleans.

Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll said there is an ongoing investigation, and his department is working with law enforcement in Louisiana, as well as trying to locate video of the suspect vehicle from businesses along North Main Street in Vidor, where the woman was found.

The Vidor Police Department dispatch center received a call of a possible kidnapping victim in the 900 block of North Main Street at 7:42 p.m. Dec. 28.

The caller said a woman had just approached him in a parking lot asking him to call the police.

Authorities are asking businesses along Interstate 10 to review surveillance footage to see if there is any activity during this time frame that may help the investigation.

The woman told police she was kidnapped from a bar in New Orleans and was able to escape in the area of North Main Street and the westbound service road of Interstate 10.

Acadian Ambulance brought the victim to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas – St. Elizabeth in stable condition.

Vidor Police describe the suspect vehicle as a white Cadillac Escalade truck between a 2010 and 2015 model.

The truck has three traditional Cadillac rims, and the driver’s side tire is a spare tire with a black rim.

No arrests have been made as of Wednesday, and suspect description has not been released.
