Death reported Monday at area industrial site

VIDOR — One person was killed following a fire at Optimus Steel LLC in Vidor, authorities said.
Orange County Sheriff’s Office Captain Joey Jacobs confirmed the death of one person Monday afternoon, and said Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident.
Orange County ESD No. 1 Fire Chief Robert Smith said authorities received a call of a structure fire at the facility at approximately 1:40 p.m. Monday.
Smith said the fire had been extinguished when the first crew arrived at the scene, but added there was a burn victim at the site.
The victim was taken to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas – St. Elizabeth, where the victim was pronounced deceased.
Optimus Steel is located at 100 Old Highway 90 in west Vidor.
A representative with Optimus Steel was not available for comment when Port Arthur Newsmedia called Monday afternoon.
