The Cajun Heritage Fest 2024 is going to be a two-stepping good time, just like it always has, organizers say.
The fun is planned Saturday at Bob A. Bowers Civic Center in Port Arthur. Doors Open at 10 a.m. Festivities begin at 11 a.m.

Back by popular demand, Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin’ Cajuns are returning to headline.
Also kicking off the day will be the 4Horses, a true Cajun Dancehall Band, The Luke Huval Band will make their debut appearance, along with John Dale Hebert & the Cajun Playboys (from the old Rodair Club days).
Speaking of the Rodair Club, the festival is paying tribute to the Thibodeaux family for all the great memories made at the dancehall.
There will be plenty to drink, plenty to eat, lots of crawfish, and lots of Cajun music, so this is the place to be April 6.
Not to be missed is the ever-popular Crawfish Racing for children. And, the Crawfish Eating contest – come try to unseat the champ!
For the first time, there is an Acoustic Jam Session and Accordion & Fiddle Contest on the evening of April 5, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Texas Artists’ Museum, 3501 Cultural Center Drive in Port Arthur. The Accordion and Fiddle contests are for amateur players 25 years of age and under. So grab a musical instrument and come jam.
Another popular event added is the Cajun Heritage Fest-A Cajun Experience that takes attendees to popular Cajun themed restaurants, The Acadian House, in Nederland, and the Museum of the Gulf Coast – remember to get an “experience” passport and get it stamped through April 28.
