The 100 Black Men of Greater Beaumont and Port Arthur Rotary Clubs is holding a community engagement volunteer day project Saturday at Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
The nonprofit exists to build and deliver beds to children who do not have a bed.
The motto is “No kid sleeps on the floor of our town!” under the direction of chapter president Jack Seeley.
The Rotary Clubs of Beaumont and Port Arthur and 100 Black Men Chapter of Greater Beaumont are a collaborative team engaged in service and educational projects mentoring youth.
“Our goal is to foster goodwill by increasing the visibility of community leaders of different neighborhoods and backgrounds working together,” a release stated. “We plan to meet and to assist in building and delivering beds to families in Southeast Texas.”
The event will include participants from Top Teens and Top Ladies of Beaumont, Bob Hope High School and Lamar University – Collegiate 100 Organization and Lamar student athletes.
