Lillie Mae Gibson Rubin passed away on June 4, 2024, in her home after an illness. She was born in Rayne, Louisiana on January 8, 1933, to Eva Perrodin Gibson and Ishnell Gibson.
She had six brothers Mervin, Curtis, Murphy, Irvin, Earl and one sister Rose Gibson Julian whom have all preceded her in death.
She married Joseph Gilbert Rubin Sr. and they had five children Eda Marie Rubin, who died in May of 2017, Joseph Gilbert Rubin Jr. (Sandra-Deceased) of San Antonio, Texas, Ronald Rubin who died at a very young age, Marian Rubin Rochon (Gerald-Deceased), Karen Rubin Theall (Donald) of Port Arthur, TX.
She was co-owner with Joseph of “Rubin’s Washateria” on Thomas Boulevard for many years. Later she retired from Fidelity Bank in Groves, TX in 1998.
Lillie had four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
She was an active member of St. Mary’s Church until it’s closing in 2005.
Then she joined St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she remained a member until her passing.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 4600 Procter Street, Port Arthur, TX with visitation from 8 a.m. until service time.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
