Mary Louise Randle, affectionately known as Mae, was peacefully called into the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at the age of 75. Mae was born on March 30, 1949, to Murphy Sr. and Albertha Pickney in Port Arthur, Texas. She exhibited a quiet strength of character that touched everyone who knew her.
Mae was the beloved mother of three children, Celeste Smith (Gregory), Chandra Wran (Corwin), and Bernard Randle (Roshanda). She was also a devoted grandmother to her seven grandchildren, Bernard Randle Jr., Kenneth Smith, Celine Smith, Cierra Wran, Zachary Wran, Chi-Kiya Randle, and Cyron Randle.
Mae had a passion for cooking and baking, creating meals that brought people together and left lasting memories. Her kitchen was always filled with the comforting aromas of her delicious dishes and baked goods, which she shared generously with family and friends.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Albertha and Murphy Pickney Sr.; her brother, Murphy Jr.; and in 2019 by her loving husband of 36 years, Bobby Ray Randle.
Mae leaves behind her remaining siblings, Lester Pickney (late Katherine), Freddie Pickney (Mary), Bobby Pickney (late Carolyn), Phyllis Ann Laurent, and Murphy Jr.’s widow, Beverly Pickney. Her siblings remember her as a loving sister with a generous spirit and a heart full of kindness.
Mae’s legacy of love, compassion, and culinary talent will live on through her children, siblings, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at St. James Catholic Church, 3617 Gulfway Drive, Port Arthur, TX with visitation from 8 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
