Drug traffickng sting leads to arrest, indictment for Beaumont man

A narcotics trafficking investigation on May 2 led to the arrest and subsequent indictment of a Beaumont man this week.
Sammy Lee Ware Jr., 49, of Beaumont was indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury n a charge of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance. According to court documents the controlled substance was MDMB-en-PINACA, a synthetic cannabinoid.
Texas Department of Public Safety Special Agent Daniel Hebert executed a residential search warrant along with Beaumont Police Department at a home in the 700 block of Roberts Avenue.
The warrant was a result of narcotics trafficking investigation and law enforcement had been conducting surveillance on ware, according to the probable cause affidavit.
The officers reportedly found cocaine, crack cocaine, synthetic marijuana and three scales and items consistent with the cooking of crack cocaine and distributing drugs inside the home.
The aggregate weight of the cocaine and crack cocaine was approximately 40 grams.
The weight of the synthetic marijuana was approximately one-and-one half pounds, which equates to approximately 680 grams.
The indictment issued this week only listed synthetic marijuana.
Ware was arrested and has since bonded out of the county jail.
