A Beaumont man that allegedly fractured a woman’s skull more than a week ago was arrested in Port Arthur Wednesday.
A Beaumont Police Officer assigned to the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force arrested Marcus Allen, 39, in Port Arthur Wednesday with the assistance of Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Port Arthur Police Department, according to information from BPD.
Austin was transported to the Beaumont Police Department to be interviewed by investigators and then transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
On Aug. 26 officers with BPD responded to 2860 Averill at 5:39 p.m. in reference to an assault called in by a third party. The victim’s juvenile daughter flagged the officers down.
The juvenile led officers to the 33-year-old semi-conscious female victim. She had a fractured skull and was transported to the hospital as a trauma alert patient.
The suspect was identified by police as Marcus Austin. Austin had Beaumont city warrants and a warrant for parole violation out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana for possession of a weapon by felon.
Police sought the public’s help in locating Austin.
