Recovery efforts are underway after a critically missing Beaumont man’s car went over the seawall and into the water in Port Arthur.
Crews with Port Arthur Fire Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Marine Division were sent to the location Tuesday morning to search for the 2019 black 4-door Jaguar driven by Robert “Bob” Quinn, 80.
Port Arthur Interim Fire Chief Robert Havens said divers attempted to search for the vehicle Monday night but the rip current was too strong.
Beaumont Police Department issued a news release Monday night on asking the public help in locating Quinn and listed him as critically missing.
Less than two hours away BPD alerted the media that during their missing persons investigation the vehicle was located in Port Arthur and recovery efforts were underway.
A call to the Port Arthur Police Chief was not immediately returned Tuesday morning.
