BEAUMONT – With the expected snow and chance of freezing conditions set to hit the Beaumont area early next week, Lamar University has elected to postpone the weekly Basketball Coaches Radio Show which takes place each Tuesday from 5 Under at 7 p.m. The radio will resume the following Tuesday.

Both Cardinal men’s and women’s teams are off to strong starts in Southland Conference play. The LU women are one of two remaining undefeated teams in conference play, while the men’s squad is in a three-way tie for third in the standings just a game out of second place.

Both squads will be in Lake Charles, La., Saturday for the renewing of the Battle of the Border rivalry versus McNeese. For the men, the contest sets up a showdown with the first-place Cowboys.

The women are slated to tip off at 1 p.m. while the men’s game will get underway at 4 p.m. Both games will be played at the Legacy Center and be broadcast live on Newstalk 560 KLVI and streamed live on ESPN+.
