PRUETT COLUMN: Faircloth should remain coach of PN-G Indians

Talk about the monkey off the back for coach Brandon Faircloth at Port Neches-Groves.
Friday night was not the first playoff win for the seventh-year coach, but it had to feel that way. For all those who a few weeks ago wanted him out, try getting the man fired now.
Your voices should fall on deaf ears. The man has his second district championship, even if it is shared with Nederland, and now he is in the second round after a thrilling win over Dayton. Where are those ‘For Sale’ signs now?
Faircloth has a 51-21 record since taking over at PN-G in 2009. That puts him 45 wins away from becoming the wins leader in Indians history. Be careful what you wish for, all you naysayers. …
The Dallas Cowboys have problems and they go far beyond if and when Tony Romo returns to the team. First, it was Greg Hardy making all the headlines for saying dumb things and then the photos from his alleged domestic abuse case being made public.
Now, Dez Bryant decided to go stupid — again. Bryant cursed out the media and then reportedly told the reporters to not put his antics out for everyone to see. The often-ignorant receiver quickly said the reporter he was on a hunt for used racial slurs against him, which the other journalists in attendance said is untrue.
This is the team Jerry Jones built. No matter what he says, this is the type of attention he enjoys. Jethro loves his team in the headlines, no matter what the situation is, so he can have an excuse to get his face on the television a few times during the week.
Here is really hoping the Cowboys lose their seventh game in a row today against my favorite team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. …
The Mid-County Madness documentary done by Fox Sports Southwest continues to be a huge success. The video was uploaded to Youtube, and as of Friday it has been seen over 46,000 times.
This means people outside of Southeast Texas have seen the special that documents the storied past of the games played between Nederland and Port Neches-Groves. This spotlight can do nothing but good things for the two schools involved in the state’s best high school rivalry.…
