Julyette Matthews Marshall, of Port Arthur, TX passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 3, 2015 with her daughter Nicole by her side.
Julyette was the daughter of the late Dr. & Mrs. J. B. Matthews. Julyette was a third generation graduate of Fisk University in Nashville, TN where she earned a BA in Liberal Arts in 1964. While she lived a significant part of her life in a wheelchair, she did not allow her physical limitations to define her. Julyette was a great mother, daughter and friend. She touched and inspired many and will live forever in their hearts and memories. Julyette is survived by her daughter Nicole Yvette Marshall.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11am at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church 3826 Wheeler Avenue, Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers a memorial gift may be made to Fisk University at connect.fisk.edu in memory of Julyette Matthews Marshall – Class of 64.
