Betty Louise Adams Pearson

Betty Louise Adams Pearson was born July 26, 1934 in Jasper, Texas. Her parents and eight of her siblings preceded her in death. Betty worked in the domestic and food services Industry for over 50 years providing quality service to clients in the Port Arthur area.
At an early age, she gave her life to Christ and later joined with New Saint John Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully in the Sunday school department, Usher Board, New Saint John Missionary Elizabeth Circle, and she was Chairman of the Kitchen Hospitality preparing delicious meals for the church family and the community.
Betty passed away on February 10, 2016 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. Two sons preceded her in death, Curtis Smith and Cornell Adams. She is survived by seven children: Hazel Smith, Lucy Oakley, Terry Smith, Ken Smith (Yea), Paula Williams (Victor), Latorshia Hollier (Ronnie), and Antoinette Paris; Nineteen grandchildren: Kobie, Cornell, Damien, Cary, Lorna, Charles, Chris, Carl Jr., Janel, Janella, Nikkie, Terry, Jeffery, Marcus, Victor Jr., Reagan, Trey, Rashimer, and Tilon; Thirty five great- grandchildren; one sister, Lallie Shankle, a special uncle Charles Moss along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at New St. John Baptist Church with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
