BEAUMONT — It appeared at first Lamar would end a two-game slide in baseball Sunday, but a three-run triple by Jeron Terres in the seventh basically ended those hopes as North Dakota State took the fourth and final game of a series at Vincent-Beck Stadium, 7-5.

Lamar (6-3) had come from 3-2 down with a two-run double by Chaneng Varela in the fourth and sacrifice fly by Bryndan Arredondo in the fifth. NDSU’s Brayden Resch singled through the right side for the insurance run in the seventh.

Jake Nash hit 3 for 5 to lead Lamar.

Also Sunday, the Lamar softball team fell in stunning fashion, 5-4, at Louisiana Tech in the final game of the Lady Techsters’ tournament. Two RBI hits in the seventh won it for La. Tech, sending Lamar to a 10-4 record.
