Lamar faces HBU in first round of Southland tournament

The Lamar women’s basketball team will be the No. 8 seed in the Southland Conference Tournament held this week at the Merrell Center in Katy.
Lamar (11-18) faces Houston Baptist (14-14) at 11 a.m. Thursday in the first round of the tournament.
The Cardinals and Huskies split a pair of SLC games this season with HBU taking the most recent contest played on Feb. 10, 77-66. Lamar won the first matchup played on Jan. 23, 77-70.
