JANICE TODORA ON BOWLING: Gund’s 833 tops at The Max

Bowling in the Thursday night Energy Country Ford League, George Gund led all bowlers this week by shooting games of 267-279-287 for a very impressive 833 set.
Bowling in that same league, Sami Jo Williams led all the women with games of 245-223-249 for a 717 series. Additional congratulations are extended to Sami Jo as she has won her second consecutive ladies City Championship.
Sami Jo was down on the leaderboard after Saturday. However, she buckled down on Sunday and captured top honors.
Monday night’s Valero League had The Chief, C.J. Moity, leading all the senior men bowlers this week by hammering out games of 256-240-199 for a 695 series. Alice Barnes, also bowling on Monday night, led the senior women bowlers by shooting games of 204-202-246 for a nice 652 series.
The Max bowl youth league, Stars of Tomorrow, had Kaden Zampini leading the way this week. Kaden ripped games of 159-213-225 for a nice 597 series.
Up next on the tournament agenda is the Men’s City Championships. Bowlers will have two weekends. First weekend is next weekend, March 12 and 13, then again on March 19 and 20. Bowlers will include top bowlers from Port Arthur and Beaumont. If you get a chance come out and checkout the action.
