Acquenette “Aqua” T. Bernard Smith, 64, of Austin, Texas, died Monday, February 29, 2016.  She was born on April 1, 1951, in Lafayette, LA, to the late Wesley P. Bernard, Sr. & Gertrude Bernard. She moved to Port Arthur as a young child, and lived there until her move to Austin in 1995.  She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School Class of 1969.  At the time of her death, she was employed with Child INC, and a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Austin, TX.
Survivors include her daughters, Brandi (Joey) Perry of Cedar Hill, TX; Kquinta (Daryl) Jackson of Desoto, TX; 5 grandchildren, Jada, Joey Jr. and Jackson Perry; and Daryl (Tommie) and Laila Jackson. Mother, Gertrude Bernard; 6 siblings, Wesley Jr., Clement (Sheila), Wayne (Kim), Sharon, Lenol (Lynn), and Mark (Tonuia). She is preceded in death by her father, Wesley Bernard, Sr. and infant daughter, Kimberly.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, March 12 @ 1:00 PM at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Austin, TX 78723.
