Orange County Deputy resigns amid federal investigation

An Orange County Sheriff’s deputy resigned his post affective Friday amid an investigation by a federal agency.
Orange County Sheriff Keith Merritt confirmed that Deputy Chad Hogan, who also served as the public information officer for the sheriff’s office, resigned on Thursday and the resignation was effective Friday afternoon.
Merritt said Hogan is being investigated by a federal agency, the Office of Inspector General. The investigation does not involve the OCSO.
