Mildred Lucinda (Linda) James

Mildred Lucinda (Linda) James departed this life on Thursday, March 17, 2016. Born October 18, 1951 to the late Hinda James, she was raised in Port Arthur, Texas but spent the past 41 years as a resident of Washington, DC.   

Mildred was a graduate of Lincoln High School (Class of 1970) and went on to pursue a college degree, graduating from Lamar University in 1975 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Teaching and Mathematics.  She faithfully served as an educator in both the Texas Public School System and the Washington, DC School System for a span of nearly 20 years.

In 1975 she united with Daniel Adegbola Ajala in Washington, DC with whom she shared 41 loving years together in companionship until she was called home to be with her Heavenly Father.

Mildred Lucinda James is preceded in death by her mother (Hinda James), aunt (Thelma Brown), sister/cousin (Florence Alexander), son-in-law (Omar Sambou), and host of other aunts and uncles.

She leaves to cherish her memories her twin daughters Jacqueline Taiwo Ajala (of Washington, DC) and Jocelyn Kehinde Ajala (of Sterling, VA) husband Daniel; two set of twin grandchildren (Sarah Sambou, Sophia Sambou) (Noah Olatubosun, Naomi Olatubosun) in addition to granddaughter Simone Olatubosun; sister/cousin Sharon Johnson-Wells, and a host of loving nephews and nieces (native to Nigeria and to Texas) who benefited from her love and kindness.

Grave-side service and interment to be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM, Green Lawn Memorial Park, Groves Texas.
