Roy Oneal “Pooch” Poche

Roy Oneal “Pooch” Poche, 64, of Port Acres, Texas, passed away on May 16, 2016, surrounded by his loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 20, 2016, at New Covenant Church in Port Arthur, Texas, Officiating will be Pastor Michael Halliburton. Burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at New Covenant Church.
Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on September 12, 1951, he was the son of Lee Roy Poche and Nell Mary DeRouen Poche. He was a 1970 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School. He was one of the founding members of the band EAZY. Pooch started playing music at the young age of 14 and enjoyed playing the keyboard, organ, and the accordion. He loved spending time outdoors gardening and working in his yard. He also loved attending his grandson Landon’s baseball games.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pooch is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Jennifer Joubert Poche; children, Jeremy Roy Poche and wife Aimy and Amber Renee Poche, both of Port Acres; grandson, Landon Roy Poche; sister, Ornell Sims and her husband Bill; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the band EAZY: Steve Champagne, Paul Bonin, Brad Fells, Lowell Benoit and wife Debbie, Todd Hollier, Kurt Killion, Sam Moore, Mike Westbrook, and “Doc” Wellman.
