Source: Martin to ask for release from NLI with Baylor

Port Arthur Memorial senior Kameron Martin did not report to Baylor on Monday to enroll for fall classes, according to a source close to the Martin family.
The source also reported to The News that Martin has asked for his release from his National Letter of Intent he signed in February.
Martin signed with the Bears because of his relationship with former Baylor coach Art Briles. The coach was fired last week after being accused of covering up sexual assaults against several Baylor students by his former players.
Martin signed with Baylor and passed over his childhood dream of signing with the Texas Longhorns.
There is a chance Baylor will not award Martin his full release from his NLI. If so, Martin could have to sit out his freshman year. If Baylor grants Martin a full release, he is able to sign with any Division I school and play this upcoming season.
