Arnold “Chief” Prestridge

Arnold “Chief” Prestridge, 79, of Nederland, died Sunday, July 10, 2016 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Mr. Prestridge was born October 22, 1936, to Dollie Hext and Lee Prestridge and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a retired supervisor after thirty-two and a half years with the Nederland municipal works.

“Chief” enjoyed fishing, drawing and especially beating everyone at checkers.

Survivors include son, Will Prestridge, of The Woodlands; daughter Tara Pitre and her husband, John, of Pearland; grandchildren, Robert, Kayla, Ethan, Cole and Elise; brothers, Bob Prestridge and his wife, Phyllis, of York, Maine; and Joe Prestridge, of Round Rock.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife of twenty-eight years, Sue Prestridge.

A gathering of Mr. Prestridge’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland, with interment to follow, at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
