Rock-A-Noos go 2-1 at tournament

HUFFMAN — The Port Neches-Groves Rock-A-Noos improved to 4-1 on the season with two victories and one loss Thursday at the Huffman Hargrave Tournament.
The Rock-A-Noos started the day with a two-set losS to Kingwood Park. Kingwood Park won the match 25-13 and 25-20.
PNG then downed Shadow Creek 25-18, 18-25 and 17-15. The Rock-A-Noos finished Thursday off with an impressive three-set victory over Goose Creek Memorial. PNG won 23-25, 25-16 and 15-11.
Brynna Bailey led PNG with 22 service points while Bayja Newby had 18 and Libbie LeJeune finished with 16. LeJeune added 20 digs and Newby had 30.
Baylee Priddy dished out 35 assists while Rachel Hammersmith had 22.
Hannah Jones led the team with 17 kills and Cheyanne Orozco added 15. LeJeune finished with 14 and Kailey Oliver had 10.
Oliver and Orozco each had six blocks and Jones had four.
PNG plays at home today at 7 p.m. against Silsbee. The Rock-A-Noos return to the Huffman Hargrave Tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday.
