Evelyn Fontenette Charles, 92, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at her home. She was born in Loreaville, Louisiana to Henry and Lou Fontenette. She was employed at St. Mary Hospital for 30 years as a Pharmacy Technician and in Central Supply.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Louise Allen, brother Henry Fontenette and her husband Robert Charles.

She leaves to cherish her memory sons Henry Dwin (fiancé Kathy Baker) of Port Arthur and Marlin Fontenette of Washington, D.C. She also leaves her favorite niece/daughter, Meechelle Fontenette of Arlington, Texas, one grandson, Damien (Dasha) and 2 great grandchildren, Conner and Ella, all of New York City. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mass of Celebration will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, officiated by Father Sampson Etim, MSP. Visitation will be from 9:00 until 11:00 with a rosary recited at 10:30am.   Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
