Paul J. Collins, 58, of Port Arthur, Texas entered into eternal rest Wednesday, August 24, 2016. He was born May 21, 1958 in Port Arthur, TX to the late Clifford Collins, Sr. and Louise Francis.
Paul was a devoted husband and man of strong faith. He was a member of Rock Island Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as Vice Chairman of the Deacons and was a member of the Male Chorus.
Paul was a 1976 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. He was employed by Valero until the time of his illness. He was a member of the Royalist Social & Civic Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Collins, Sr. and Louise Francis.
Left to bear his loss and cherish his memories are: wife of 29 years Cheryl Collins; two daughter Isis Keller (Kirbin) of Port Arthur, TX and Paris Collins (Raylon) of Houston, TX; one granddaughter, Brooklyn Collins of Houston, TX; one sister, Crystal Smith (Adrian) of Port Arthur, TX; three brothers, Jonathan Keith DeJean of Dallas, TX, Clifford Collins, Jr. (Brenda) of Stafford, VA and Chad A. Collins of Port Arthur, TX; a special cousin-more like a brother, Fred Hudson, Jr. (Carmen) of Port Arthur, TX; one niece-more like a daughter Tasianna Stevenson (Dameno) of Washington State; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Rock Island Missionary Baptist Church with visitation from 12 noon until service time. Reverend Ransom E. Howard will officiate. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
