Lewis Morris

Lewis Morris, 90, of Port Neches, TX passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Senior Rehabilitation in Port Arthur, TX. Lewis was born November 1, 1925 in Wister, Oklahoma to the late Thedy Samuel Morris and Agnes Alford Morris. Lewis served in the Navy during World War II. He retired from Texaco after 36 years of service as a Pipefitter.

Lewis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Lewis was known to his family as a hard worker and a great cook. He was a simple man and could be very meticulous at things.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Tiffany Renee Young and Tammy Renell Thompson; five brothers, Edgar Morris, Naimon Morris, Vestal Morris, Bill Morris and James Morris and one sister, Birdi Morris. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie Morris, sons, Pastor Lewis Wayne Morris and wife Margaret, Ernie Lee Morris and wife Sandra, Joey Morris and wife Shea; daughters, Virginia Ann Miers and husband Eugene, Ellen Joyce Sartin and one sister, Ruby Lynn. Mr. Morris also leaves behind 18 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends to cherish his memories.

The family welcomes friends and relatives to a visitation Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life for Mr. Morris will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016 in the chapel of Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
