Seven people were injured in a major wreck on FM 365 on Thursday.

The wreck happened around 11:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of FM 365 after an elderly man traveling west on FM 365 veered into the common turn lane and struck a vehicle that was in the turn lane attempting to turn into Park Central Apartments, according to a press release from the Port Arthur Police Department.

A portion of the road was closed to traffic while emergency crews worked the wreck. Three medical helicopters were called the scene.

One person was sent to John Sealy Hospital in Galveston and six were sent to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Several of the victims received serious injuries.
